Let’s Get Something Gay…

Have you ever noticed how the world seems to be obsessed with gay vs. straight?

Satan is using “gay” as a distraction, so the world will justify heterosexual sexual sin.

If everyone is focused on gay vs straight, then it becomes ‘everything homosexual is a sin’ and ‘everything heterosexual is okay.’

It’s not about gay vs. straight, it’s about what’s honoring God vs. what’s not honoring God. And you can absolutely be in a heterosexual relationship that’s not honoring God, and it doesn’t make it “better” or “okay,” because one of you has an innie and one has an outie.

Here’s a handy tool to see whether or not your relationship is honoring God. Anyone can use this, regardless of whether or not the person you’re in a relationship with or interested in being in a relationship with has a penis or a vagina. Ask yourself the following questions:

1) Did God ask or tell me not to be involved with this person romantically or sexually (or even as a friend)?

2) Did I ask God if it’s okay for me to enter into a relationship with this person, romantically, sexually, or platonically?

3) Did I intentionally not ask God if it’s okay for me to have a romantic, sexual, or platonic relationship with this person, because I knew what the answer would be, and I didn’t want to hear it/deal with it (or didn’t care what the answer would be)?

4) Am I doing something with this person that God asked or told me not to do, or would otherwise not be happy with?

There’s more to it than that, but it’s a good start, and it has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not you have the same body parts as the other person involved.

Oh, you like them even though God told you no? You like how it feels even though God told you no? You desire this relationship even though God told you no? Who cares? I sometimes desire to punch people in the face that piss me off or do something stupid. Just because we desire it, doesn’t mean it’s something we should do. To truly live a life aligned with God, we must deny ourselves (Mark 8:34) and put our fleshly desires to death (Galatians 5:24).

Earthly pleasures that are bad for us and not God’s will will always be appealing to us. Remember the poison apple from Snow White?

”But turning around and looking at His disciples, He rebuked Peter. He said, “Get behind Me, satan! You are not setting your mind on the things of God, but the things of men.” Then He called the crowd, along with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to follow after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and keep following Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the sake of the Good News will save it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet give up his soul?“
‭‭Mark‬ ‭8‬:‭33‬-‭36‬ ‬‬

“Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you.” Genesis 4:7b

”Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.“
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭

Stop focusing on gay vs. straight, and start focusing on honoring God vs. not honoring God.

And, remember, sex IS marriage.
